IGA
Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) uses spline basis functions for the geometry description and the solution field (e.g. NURBS known from CAD). These higher-order and higher-continuity spline basis functions may yield an easier model generation from CAD, a more accurate geometry, more accurate results, and a larger explicit time step size.
Tensile Test
This LS-DYNA example shows a tensile test on a flat specimen using isogeometric analysis (IGA) with trimmed NURBS shells including elasto-plastic material and element deletion. It also shows one way to apply boundary conditions on isogeometric shells. The results are obtained with LS-DYNA R14.
